Postmortem Devlog: Violetskies11757
As one of the artists for this game, I had some difficulty finding ideas or references for the art and staying focused on it. Some of the art I made I was really proud of the design, but a good bit of it unfortunately didn't get used in the final build. I was also equally as proud that my team decided on using a lot of my ideas to make this game! In my head it was very different. The style was a lot darker and closer to the game Corpse Party, which may have been a subconscious inspiration for my ideas. Even if we didn't get that far I'm super proud of my team for all the things they did to make the game come alive. :)
It was a really fun experience doing this game jam. I think the time limit and having less hours since I only had access to things from my school's computer was definitely something that held me back from contributing more. But if I were to do this again, I hope to have the equipment to work on it at home, as well!
To anyone doing a game jam for the first time, my best advice for you is to REALLY plan your tasks out. Make sure you know what you need to do for the next several hours so you don't get stuck and waste time.
